Why dogs love it here.

Plenty of Launceston cafes will let a dog sit at an outdoor table. Beta Park is different: your dog comes in with you, settles on a bed, and usually makes a few friends while you drink your coffee.

Beds, bowls, chill spots.

Dog beds and water bowls are set up around the cafe and the gym floor, with several quiet corners for a dog who would rather nap than socialise.

Inside, out of the weather.

Launceston winters are cold and wet. Here your dog is indoors with you, whatever the weather is doing on Forster St.

Other dogs to meet.

Regulars bring their dogs most days, so there are usually a couple around. Between the climbers and the dogs, nobody is short of a pat.

Long hours, every day.

Open from 7am on weekdays and until 10pm at night, 365 days a year. An early walk and a coffee, or a late one, both work.

No climbing required.

The cafe is open to anyone. No entry fee, no booking, no need to climb. Plenty of locals come in just for the coffee and the dogs.

Something to watch.

The cafe looks straight onto the comp wall, so you have front row seats to the climbing while your dog watches the door.
